HIS DIVINE POWER.
By
June Potter
Dear Friends,
Let us, for a moment, think about something.
Have we within ourselves, a description, an internal view, a picture of the person, Jesus Christ?
Does it perhaps come to mind that He is Eternal?
Let us now follow what the Bible has to say concerning this.
The special marks of Divinity are first of all-
HIS PRE-EXISTENCE.
In John 8 v 58 Jesus said unto them “Verily, verily, I say unto you, before Abraham was, I AM.”
In John 17 v 5 it says “And now, 0 Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.”
It says in John 17 v 24 “…for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.”
The above verses should lay to rest any thoughts of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ not being eternal.
He, the Eternal Life, was with the Father, and was, and still is manifested unto us.
Let us now look at the conditions of us receiving eternal life. In other words, the way of salvation.
John 3 v 15 says “That whosoever believeth in Him (Jesus Christ) should not perish but have eternal life.”
In John 3 v 36 we are told “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life.”
Peter stated in Luke 18 v 28 “that they left all and followed Him.” They renounced the things of the world and put their Lord first.
There does come that of self sacrifice when serving the Lord with our whole heart.
One is expected to refuse the way of the world and how life is seen and lived and this becomes embedded within us when we gain more and more knowledge of the Lord.
John 17 v 3 says “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”
Thus, it is of necessity that we, as His children have fellowship with the Father and
His Son, Jesus Christ.
Read His Word with the Holy Spirit enlightening it thus making it alive unto you.
Then we begin to experience spiritual joy and spiritual fullness.
Psalm 126 v 2 tells us that we as His children are no longer held captive by the world or by the law for surely He has done great things for us.
We are able to rejoice in Him for He has now clothed us with the garments of salvation and covered us with the robe of righteousness. (Isaiah 61 v 10)
As we “eat of His Word”- that is study and take it in- our heart rejoices for we realise we are called by His Name. (Jer.15 v 16.)
How wonderful it is when we experience a time of refreshing!
One of His desires for us is that we experience spiritual fullness.
This takes place as we come to know the full love of Christ, which passeth knowledge. (Eph. 3 v 19)
When we realise and accept that even in difficult times He anoints our head with oil and our enemies cannot over take us. Psalm 23 v 5.
It is His desire for us to be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Col. 1 v 9.
This, dear friends, causes us to experience spiritual fullness as He satisfies our deepest needs!
He is light and in Him is no darkness at all thus the reason if we follow after Him and abide by His written Word; we are able to have fellowship with one another because we are walking in the light- in the fullness and truth of His Word.
Be blessed. Xxxx

TO BE A WISE MAN
By
June Potter
James 3 v 13-17 says “Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? Let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, and devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.”
In the Bible, wisdom is spoken of as saying that whosoever heareth the sayings of the Lord and does them, the Lord will liken him unto a wise man…Matthew 7 v 24.
This is why it is so important to study the Word thus enhancing your knowledge of Him and your faith thus able to put all into action.
He tells us in James 1 v 5 that if we are lacking in wisdom we must ask Him and He will give it unto us in abundance.
Our life is such that it needs to show forth constantly our good works as unto the Lord and this is to be done with that of a meek spirit, realising meekness is a fruit of the Spirit. To be able to teach others this is an essential requirement. 2 Tim.2 v 25.
If you have a tendency to be harsh and arrogant, you will not reach the heart- the inner man of anyone!
Let us take an example from the Lord Jesus Christ who when reviled, He reviled not! And when He suffered, He threatened not, but committed Himself to Him- the Father that judgeth righteously. 1 Peter 2 v 23.
In Mark 11 v 29 Jesus says to take His yoke upon you and learn of Him for He is meek and lowly in heart. When you do this you shall find rest for your soul.
If you have bitterness and strife within and it is something that you have not resolved, the Lord sees it as you lying against His Truth: His Word. It is described as a false profession. James 3 v 14.
He is revealing this unto you because He desires for you to be free from what is considered as evil works. In verse 15 He tells you that this so called wisdom does not descend from above, from Him, but is earthly, sensual and devilish!
Thus we see that there are two sources of wisdom, one which is considered heavenly wisdom and the other worldly wisdom.
Perhaps you have been experiencing that of confusion and know not which path to take, etc? Envying and strife have risen within your heart. These works of the flesh should be showing you that you are walking according to your carnal nature as the Lord is not the author of confusion!
When His wisdom rests upon you it will be that of purity, gentleness, mercy, sincerity and peace.
Plus it reveals itself as that of showing its traits to one and all, not just to those you, yourself, see as worthy!
Partiality is forbidden, it is known as hypocrisy. Verse 17.
But the fruits of righteousness, the spiritual fruits of those who are born again and following after Him, is that of peace.
Let us have an inner desire for His wisdom as without it, we will make incorrect decisions and even stumble and fall!
Our conduct as His children, our understanding and our good works thus revealing our faith, all come about through His wisdom working through us.
Remember there are two sources of wisdom, it is important that you do not forget this. We are in the world but not of it, so it has actually become easy for us to judge which is of Him and that which is of the evil one.
Keep studying His Word, keep growing and keep praising and thanking Him for His tender mercies which are new every morning.
Be blessed. xxxx

PERIL OF SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS
By
June Potter
1 John 1 v 8 says “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”
V 9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Why does man believe he has no sin within: in fact he is sinless? The Bible says one of the reasons is his own self esteem, in other words he thinks more highly of himself than he ought!
Psalm 36 v 2 tells us “For he flatterth himself in his own eyes…” This, dear friends, has the ability to lead one into spiritual bondage. Isaiah 44 v 20 tells us “He feedeth on ashes; a deceived heart hath turned him aside…”
Gal. 6 v 3 says “For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.”
All the above reveals that man is still walking in that of his carnal nature. In the eyes of the Lord it shows man is that of a careless hearer!
James 1 v 22 says to us “But be ye doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
This is interesting as it reveals we, ourselves, bring this deception into place! It is not satan attacking us, nor is it scripture that has shown itself to be of no consequence or truth!
We are to be active concerning the Word of God, in other words do what it says, plus trust in its written truth.
Just hearing about it is not going to bring certain things to pass. If it says, for instance, to stop lying as satan is the father of all lies, then stop it!!
Speak the truth, no matter the outcome. When it tells you to forgive then obey and do so or else you will carry unnecessary burdens and even become bitter thus defiling yourself and others who come into contact with you.
By being active you show yourself as one who believes in His truth which in turn leads to spiritual growth.
We need to realise that sin is universal. In Isaiah 53 v 6 we are told “All like sheep have gone astray: we have turned every one to his own way.”
Isaiah 64 v 6 says “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags…”
Romans 3 v 23 tells us “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
However in spite of all this the Lord God is full of mercy for He says to us in Prov. 28 v 13 “ …but who so confesses and forsakes them (our sins) shall have mercy.”
He forgives us our sins as He is ever faithful plus cleanses us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1 v 9.
“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.” Eph. 1 v 7.
How grateful we should be! Once we were unclean and not fit to come into His presence. We followed the world believing we would find our spiritual happiness and way to eternal life through all that it had to offer.
But due to the Holy Spirit drawing us to the Lord and His way of life, we are now able to walk as those who are redeemed!
Our Lord is a divine judge, He gives divine justice thus the reason we have been forgiven and cleansed by the pure holy blood of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour!
Seek not your own will but rather the will of the Father, John 5 v 30, who sent His only begotten Son so that we may be reconciled to Him through our salvation.
Be blessed. Xxxx

HIS HELP IN TIMES OF CHANGE
By
June Potter
Life changes, which in itself, can cause at given times, a certain amount of unsureness.
However, although there may be change all around, He, the Almighty God of heaven and earth never changes!
As His children this gives us full reassurance that in Him we are safe as our security lies not in man, not in the world system but in who and what He is and His written Word.
Mark 8 v 36 says to us “For what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?”
The world is unable to satisfy the deep inner needs of our spirit man. Everything that we are offered by the ways of the world is but temporary, in time they fade away and once more we are left with emptiness!
You may be wondering how then are we to be satisfied and able to find peace and happiness?
If we, as His beloved, search for contentment, inner peace and acceptance from that which the world offers, we will eventually experience powerlessness in our walk with Him.
Why is this? Because doubt concerning that which He did for us on the Cross will enter in, bringing unbelief in the truth of His written Word. Even the Apostles in Mark 9 v 18 and John 15 v 5 were rendered helpless to contend with satanic forces because of unbelief.
As His children we need to realize that we are connected to Him. He is the Vine and we are the branches therefore all doubt should be cast aside.
A lack of faith brings about fear which in turn renders us unable to act in accordance with His Word.
Jesus Christ offered Himself as a sacrifice. In Gal. 1 v 4 it says “Who gave himself for our sins that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God our Father.”
He knew about you from the beginning of time and all the changes you are now experiencing is nothing new to Him. He will see you through and lead you to that which will bring about an inner sense of peace for greater love hath no man. (John 15 v 13.)
Trust in the Atoning Blood of Jesus Christ. Become a vessel of honour able to be used of God by washing yourself through His Word. (2 Tim. 2 v 21.)
Make sure you have a good conscience which is void of offence towards the Lord and towards man. (Acts 24 v 16.)
Love Him with all your heart and soul. Fear the Lord your God; have deep respect for Him and walk in all His ways. (Deut. 10 v 12.) This reveals your spiritual service.
The only true change that we can be satisfied with is that we grow, mature and move onto new heights in Him
May we take our eyes off the world and its call and focus on Him who is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the ending, which is and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. (Rev. 1 v 8.)
Be blessed. Xxxx

JUST A BULB (Some USED others NEW)
BUT
Preciously Created
I AM WHO I AM YES ARE WHO WE ARE And I IS WHO I IS!!!!!!!!!!!
When the game is over, both the king and the pawn return to the same box.
This is a must read for all whether retired or not. The truth is that all used and nonfunctional bulbs are the same.
A Senior Executive retired and shifted from his palatial official quarters to the housing society, where he owned a flat. He considered himself big and never talked to anyone. Even
while walking in the community park every evening, he ignored others, looking at them with contempt.
One day, it somehow transpired that an elderly person sitting beside him started a conversation, and they continued to meet. Every conversation was mostly a monologue with the retired Executive harping on his pet topic, “Nobody can imagine the big post and elevated position I held before retirement. I came this community due to compulsions”; and so on, and the other elderly person used to listen to him quietly. After many days, when the retired Executive was inquisitive about others, the elderly listener opened his mouth and spoke.
“After retirement, we are all like used and finished BULBS💡💡💡💡💡💡It does not matter what a bulb’s wattage was, how much light or glitter it gave. I have been living in this community for the last 5 years and have not told anyone that: *I was a Member of the Parliament for two terms.
On your right, over there is A Man who retired as General Manager in Corporation.
Over there is Another Man who was a Major General in the Army. That Man sitting on the bench in spotless white dress A PROFESSOR, who was a former lecturer in a university before retirement. He hasn’t revealed it to anyone, not even to me, but I know."
All used dysfunctional bulbs are now the same – whatever its wattage was – 10, 40, 60, 100 watts – it does not matter now. Neither does it matter what type of bulb it was before it got finished – LED, CFL, Halogen, Incandescent, fluorescent, or decorative💡💡💡💡
And that, my friend, applies to you too. The day you understand this, you will find peace and tranquillity even in this housing society. Remember, the rising sun as well as the setting sun are both beautiful and adorable. But the rising sun gets more importance and adoration, and is even worshipped, whereas the setting sun is not given the same reverence. It is better to understand this sooner than later!!
Dear friend, your current designation, title, and power are not permanent. Keeping a lot of emotions with these things only complicates your life when you lose them one day. Remember that when the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box.
Therefore, enjoy your achievements today/all that you have acquired today. Have a fabulous time ahead.
Be at peace with yourself. At the end of the day all those certificates are nothing but just a piece of paper that will be replaced by only one certificate... Death Certificate!
Retirees, pls stay connected and support each other. Where possible, put a smile on someone's face. Be your brother and your sister's keeper.
God bless you!!

HIS FLOWING PEACE.
By
June Potter
During our walk with the Lord, we will, at given times, experience moments of intense anxiety. Various situations may suddenly confront us. Circumstances change, often not for the better and we feel full of anxiety, fear and even that of disbelief!
However, despite all that suddenly appears out of nowhere, so to speak, we have this assurance that our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is right there with us and as we trust in Him, so He will give us His peace.
Isaiah 53 v 5 tells us that our peace has been bestowed through Jesus Christ. Let us grasp this truth that peace, not as the world gives, but His peace is indeed a gift given to His people. “…the Lord will bless His people with peace.”
When a certain situation has removed your peace and you begin to doubt His ways and Word, please remember the evil one will do anything and everything to get you to turn away from your calling and love for the Lord.
But he is the father of all lies so pay no attention to the fleshly thoughts he puts in your mind. Focus on Him and the truth of His Word.
It is stated in the Bible that peace is a legacy of Christ. John 14 v 27 says He has left us His peace. It is different to that of the world and there is no need to be troubled or afraid.
Human life is brief. James 4 v 14 says “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” This is how our physical life has been described.
As sad and sorrowful it may be, we need to understand that our spiritual life when born again is described as such. Prov. 12 v 28 “In the way of righteousness is life, and in the pathway thereof there is no death.”
We, as His beloved need not fear death as when we are taken home to be with Him, we know that we will one day meet up with all our loved ones who went before us.
According to Romans 5 v 1 we are told that “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Dear friends, please keep your mind on Him as if you do, He says in Isaiah 26 v 3 that He will keep you in perfect peace because you trust in Him.
In the world there is indeed tribulation, but He tells us to be of good cheer as He has overcome the world. Fret not about your eternal existence but commit your whole self unto Him and rest in the knowledge that you are His precious child, and nothing can separate you from Him.
Peace, His peace is your portion.
Fond Regards
